Whether it is in solo mode where he captures the authentic, gritty essence of pre WW2 Mississippi blues, or when he fronts his band The Sinister Kids, and they collectively transform into a blues and rock n roll freight train, Frank Sultana has established himself on the East Coast live music scene as an artist to see.

He has been a busy man over the last few years playing around 80/90 shows a year across NSW, QLD, VIC and TAS, since his 2011 debut, ‘Blues from the Lost Motel’.

Some of the many highlights have included opening for American blues sensation Gary Clarke Jnr and elder blues statesman Tony Joe White, as well as local heroes Mia Dyson, Henry Wagons, The Snowdroppers, Steve Smyth, Russell Morris, Sarah McLeod, Jeff Lang, and the Whitlams, amongst many others.

With 4 albums and 3 EP’s released in 5 years Frank is building a great body of recorded work, and has surrounded himself with a vibrant collection of players, known collectively as the Sinister Kids.

This group of young and energetic musicians are surprisingly seasoned players and performing at their red hot best.

Together they create the perfect back drop for Frank’s brutal and raw guitar and vocal style.

With the guitar playing and vocal delivery that reflects many whisky drenched nights, Frank Sultana and the Sinister Kids will take you to the edge of the creative abyss.

They may even let you return from it…

“This is the future of blues, and it’s damn good.”
